What we track: Latitude, longitude, and timestamp during active walks when GPS is enabled.
Why: To provide proof of walk distance and route to dog owners, and to create walk reports.
Who sees it: The dog walker and their clients only. We do not share location data with any third party.
How to control it: Dog walkers can disable GPS tracking at any time in Profile → Availability → GPS Walk Tracking. When disabled, no location data is collected and no route/distance information is shown to clients.
Retention: GPS route data is stored for as long as the walk record exists. You can delete walk records or your entire account at any time.
We use the following third-party services to process address and location data:
We use Google Maps APIs (Distance Matrix API and Geocoding API) to calculate distances between walker and client addresses and to convert addresses into geographic coordinates. When you or your walker use distance-related features, address data is sent to Google's servers for processing. Google may retain this data in accordance with their privacy policy.
Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
If configured by the walker, we may use the what3words API to convert between street addresses and what3words references. Address data is sent to what3words servers for this conversion.
GPS location data collected during walks is stored securely in our database (encrypted at rest and in transit). This data is accessible only to the walker and their clients, as described in Section 4 above.
PupperWalk offers optional biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID) for convenient and secure app access.
We share your data only with:
